A Message from the Editor

Dear Colleagues:

The featured article in this issue, “ACCP White Paper Released on Collaborative Drug Therapy Management and Comprehensive Medication Management,” recounts the American College of Clinical Pharmacy’s position on collaborative drug therapy management and discusses the evolution and current state of collaborative drug therapy management and comprehensive medication management in the United States. Although it represents only one nation’s experience, the discussion provides important factors and implications relevant to regulators and professional organizations in countries where clinical pharmacy practice is evolving.

This issue also highlights several key educational programs that ACCP is delivering in an effort to share experiences in the development of clinical pharmacy services and advancement of clinical pharmacy education and practice around the globe. International symposia such as “Advancing Clinical Pharmacy Practice: Updates and Strategies from Experts in the Field,” to be delivered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in conjunction with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Pharmaceutical Congress, and “Developing the Competencies of an Effective Clinical Practitioner and Teacher,” to be delivered in Bangkok, Thailand, in conjunction with the Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy, are being developed in alignment with ACCP’s mission to advance human health by extending the frontiers of clinical pharmacy.

The 2015 ACCP Global Conference on Clinical Pharmacy is fast approaching. The conference will bring together clinical pharmacy education, practice, and research expertise from around the globe. I trust it will prove to be an outstanding platform for the exchange of ideas and a rich learning environment for all. I hope to see many of you in San Francisco!

Sincerely,

Wafa Y. Dahdal, Pharm.D., BCPS
