“Advancing Clinical Pharmacy Practice: Updates and Strategies from Experts in the Field” to Be Offered in Dubai


The American College of Clinical Pharmacy will offer a program on “Advancing Clinical Pharmacy Practice: Updates and Strategies from Experts in the Field” in conjunction with the GCC Pharmaceutical Congress to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The 1-day pre-congress symposium will be held on October 5, 2015, and deliver 6.0 contact hours of high-quality programming focused on chronic diseases and pharmacist services. The symposium’s goal is to provide participants with practical strategies for advancing clinical pharmacy services. The spectrum of topics covered will span from an update on select chronic cardiovascular diseases to the pharmacist services and processes that advance clinical and economic outcomes of pharmacy services.

The following are the overall learning objectives for the symposium:

  1. Devise strategies to implement the process of care for clinical pharmacists.
  2. Discuss landmark advances in cardiovascular medicine with unique impact on pharmacist activities and services.
  3. Given a patient case, construct evidence-based plans for the management of patients with common cardiovascular diseases.
  4. Outline strategies to advance pharmacist services that improve medication management and patient outcomes.
  5. Discuss pharmacists’ role in realizing health-system, national, and global health care goals.
