Biography

Elizabeth A. Coyle, Pharm.D., BCPS

Dr. Elizabeth Coyle is the Assistant Dean of Assessment and a Clinical Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases, University of Houston College of Pharmacy; Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Infectious Diseases, Infection Control and Employee Health, and Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. Dr. Coyle joined the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course in 2011.

Dr. Coyle received her Pharm.D. degree from the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy in Omaha. She completed a pharmacy practice residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a critical care specialty residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Wayne State University and Detroit Receiving Hospital. Dr. Coyle has written and presented many papers on antimicrobial resistance, pharmacodynamics, and bacterial virulence. Dr. Coyle’s research interests include the immunomodulatory effects of antibiotics, antimicrobial pharmacodynamics, the treatment of infections in the immunocompromised and critically ill and outcomes assessment of learning in college of pharmacy students.
