Members of the Joint Commission of Pharmacy Practitioners (JCPP) have approved a consensus resource document that describes the process of patient care for pharmacists. Development of the document occurred over a two-year period and included an examination of key pharmacy source documents and several comment periods for the organizations to produce the completed document, which was approved on May 29, 2014.
A working group of representatives from 10 national pharmacist organizations developed the document for consideration and approval by JCPP. The document can be accessed at http://www.accp.com/docs/positions/misc/JCPP_Pharmacists_Patient_Care_Process.pdf.
