The American College of Clinical Pharmacy proudly announces a new addition to the Google Play and Apple App stores – the ACCP Flip Cards. Combining the flash card experience with more than 300 patient care scenarios, this new app is a fun, fast, and simple way to prepare for the Pharmacotherapy Specialty Certification Examination administered by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.

Content in the ACCP Flip Cards app is identical to that in the print version of ACCP Flip Cards: Pharmacotherapy. Items within Domain 1 (patient-specific pharmacotherapy) cover 17 disease-specific areas such as cardiology, infectious diseases, nephrology, neurology, men’s and women’s health, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Other items provide coverage of topics in Domain 2 (retrieval, generation, interpretation, and dissemination of knowledge in pharmacotherapy) and Domain 3 (systems- and population-based pharmacotherapy).

In addition to on-the-go convenience, the mobile app has additional functionality to enhance self-testing and evaluation. Items can be presented by examination domain or by system and patient care problems, or they can be shuffled randomly for a more challenging review. Scoring statistics provide instant feedback to direct and more focused review of selected areas.

A favorites feature enables the user to highlight items that are especially interesting or that need additional review. A notes feature assists in exam preparation by allowing the user to jot down reminders, mnemonic devices, or additional information.

Other key features include a handy table of reference values for common laboratory tests. Explained answers for each item assist in learning and include one to five supporting references, each with a hyperlink to PubMed or other compiler.

The print version of ACCP Flip Cards: Pharmacotherapy can be ordered from the ACCP Online Bookstore. The ACCP Flip Cards mobile app can only be purchased from the Apple App Store or from Google Play.
