This PGY2 residency provides experiences in primary care and academia. The clinical site is Harborview Medical Center (either Adult or Family Medicine Clinics). The resident, through collaborative practice agreements, provides direct patient care and chronic disease management. The resident will gain proficiency in providing rational evidence based recommendations, patient assessment, triage, motivational interviewing, drug therapy management, and precepting Pharm.D. students and PGY1 residents on rotation. The academic experience based at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy includes instructing a Pharmacotherapeutic lab, providing didactic lectures, exploring theory of education, leadership, student evaluation, and development of syllabi, test questions, and curriculum.
