Program Overview
Updates in Therapeutics: The Pharmacotherapy Preparatory Course is ideal for pharmacy professionals who are preparing for the Pharmacotherapy Specialty Certification Examination administered by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties and for those seeking a self-paced review and refresher of disease states and therapeutics. Developed by Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialists, the course content provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge domains covered in the pharmacotherapy specialty certification examination. The course uses a case-based approach, with strong emphasis on the thought processes needed to solve patient care problems in each therapeutic area.
This is the same course that is presented live each year at ACCP's Spring Practice and Research Forum. The course materials are available in a variety of formats to best suit your learning style. Instructional materials from the 2006 live course will be available June 1, 2006.
Instructional materials are available in the following formats:
- The complete, Web-based online course with continuing education credit lets you listen to lectures from the live presentation, download the presenters' slides and materials, and take the online self-assessment test with the option to earn continuing pharmacy education credit.
- A CD-ROM and course book package with continuing education credit, which includes the full course book (print or online), plus a CD-ROM.
- A comprehensive course work book in print or online format, with lecture material, case studies, study questions with explained answers, and literature citations for further reference.
- A CD-ROM version containing the audiosynchronized lectures and presenters' slides from the live program.
