Recommended Format for 2019 ACCP Annual Meeting:

The Board of Regents, Board of Trustees, and ACCP staff recommend you use/adapt one of the two poster templates below. The format is suggested to maximize our poster session efficiency and effectiveness for both presenters and attendees.

Tips and Hints for Use of the Templates:

  • The templates are set for a size of 21” tall by 42” wide but, can easily be scaled up at the time of printing to any 2:1 ratio size (e.g., common poster sizes include: 36”x72”, 42”x84”, and 48”x96”).
  • The main finding is the highlight of the poster and is displayed in plain language at the top of the poster board. Attendees can see it from a distance
  • What is your primary finding and how best can it be conveyed? Be thoughtful as to how these design templates could be used for your individual poster. The center space of the poster should substantiate your main finding using a picture, graph, figure, and/or table.
  • Poster side-bars are the details of the background, design, methods, results, and secondary conclusions.
  • To create a free QR code, go to qr-code-generator.com. Examples of content to link to your QR code include the full paper, your poster, additional tables or figures, and/or your contact information. Save your content to be accessed by conference attendees and linked to the QR code in a web-based location that can be shared with anyone (examples include: a web server, Box, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, DropBox, etc. be sure to share the saved file with anyone having the link).

General Poster Design Tips:

  • Design your material to read from left to right and from top to bottom.
  • Where possible, use words or phrases set off by bullets instead of full sentences.
  • Use headings and subheadings. Boldfaced and underlined headings do two things: guide the reader and condense information.
  • Choose readable lettering for the text. The smallest lettering should be large enough to be read from four feet away.
  • Pictures, graphs, figures, and tables often say more with less words.
