Position Description
East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. This position is a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Essential Functions: The successful candidate will be expected to develop a collaborative, grant-funded research program focused on practice-based, clinical research in the community pharmacy setting. There are significant opportunities for research collaboration with faculty in the Colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, and Public Health and in particular with funded clinical scientists affiliated with the ETSU Center for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment. Robust opportunities exist for collaborative research within a collection of regional community pharmacies.

The successful applicant will teach in the didactic curriculum, mentor students in various educational endeavors including research activities, contribute significantly to the scholarly pursuits of the department, and participate in regional/national presentations. Faculty members are expected to provide service to the college, the university, and broader professional community.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a Pharm.D. in conjunction with a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship or a PhD. Applicants with additional clinical experience or postgraduate training in community pharmacy, community pharmacy research experience, and/or training in public health will be given preferential consideration.

The Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy is part of the Academic Health Sciences Center of ETSU, which also includes the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, and Clinical and Rehabilitative Sciences. The College of Pharmacy has an active postgraduate training program, including fellows and residents. ETSU enrolls 15,000 students and is located in Johnson City, a family-friendly community in beautiful northeast Tennessee.
