Primary Purpose:
Idaho State University's College of Pharmacy is steeped in tradition and poised to lead the nation in innovative pharmacy discovery and practice. The Dean of the College of Pharmacy is the leader of this effort to develop caring and collaborative pharmacists and scholars who improve health outcomes through transformative research and patient centered care. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic planning, development, enhancement initiatives, assuring external funding to support growth of the College of Pharmacy, faculty development, accreditation and professional standards, and day-to-day management of College of Pharmacy administration, faculty, staff and students.

Provide leadership in Idaho advancing the University’s statewide health sciences education mission through execution of strategic planning and academic program development and implementation of the College of Pharmacy.

Engagement with the pharmacy community, business, industry and health system partners.

Oversee Pocatello, Meridian, and Anchorage delivery sites administration and operations.

Oversee and collaborate with College of Pharmacy administration including associate deans, assistant deans, department chairs, and faculty members in the college for the delivery of instruction, research and service.

Provide student services including appeals, petitions, change of grades, as well as liaison with registrar, and review curriculum proposals.

Act as liaison between the College of Pharmacy and KDHS and Academic Affairs in the area of Program Prioritization and Effectiveness, curricular program development and approvals with Curriculum Council and Graduate Council.

Leverage and allocate resources and project and account for budget expenditures.

Create a positive, collaborative environment that ensures access, opportunity, learning, and discovery for students and other constituents.

Keep apprised, respond to interest in, and demand for programs of study and workforce training in the health professions.

Oversee facilities and equipment updates.

Engage in philanthropic fundraising and pursue grant opportunities.

Serve as liaison for inter-professional education integration and student services.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Pharm.D. or BS in pharmacy with advanced degree
• Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Idaho
• Eligible for tenure at the level of Professor, should an academic appointment be desired
• Minimum of one year of residency, specialty residency, fellowship, PhD, or equivalent experience
• Strategic and operational leadership experience in an academic setting
• Evidence of budget management and planning
• Evidence of effective teaching
• Evidence of sustained scholarship
• Evidence of a collaborative management style
• Effective communication, oral and written

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in efficient and innovative multi-site program management
• Experience in developing collaborative partnerships across stakeholders
• Evidence of advocacy for pharmacy profession, college, division, and/or university
• Experience with advancement and development
• Experience in alumni relations
• Experience in experiential teaching
• Legislative experience
• Board Certification
• Sustained grantsmanship
