Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacist
Rotating Day and Night Shifts Available

The ED Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for:

• Providing Pharmacy support to Emergency Physicians, ER Registered Nurses, ER Advanced Practice Providers, and other support staff.
• Assisting with and provide expertise in code and other emergent patient care situations. Other duties include:
o comprehensive review of prescribed drug orders for accuracy, quality assurance, appropriateness of treatment, cost saving/avoidance, and providing recommendations in drug therapy as clinically indicated, reviewing and signing off on
• Completing medication histories, routine review of blood and urine cultures to ensure appropriate provision of pharmaceutical treatment for patients discharged from the hospital,
• Provision of education to other pharmacy staff members, nursing team members, and physician and provider team members.
• Assisting in the precepting of pharmacy students and residents.
• Assessing opatients including development, evaluation, and modification of the plan of care.
o interprets and performs complex patient care procedures that are specific to their area of expertise.
• In the absence of the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator, the Clinical Pharmacist will assume the Coordinator’s duties.
• Patients served include infant, child and adolescent, adult and geriatric.


• Graduate from accredited school of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and clinical experience (residency) are acceptable in lieu of PharmD.
• Current Maryland License or eligible for licensure in the State of Maryland required.
• 1-2 years as Clinical Pharmacist in institutional setting preferred.
