The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy invites applications for two full-time 12-month non-tenure track instructional faculty appointments in the Foundations of Pharmacy Practice Laboratory course sequence of the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum. Foundations is a six-semester course longitudinally integrated for students to apply the knowledge, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills essential in contemporary professional pharmacy practice. The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching and coordinating this practice-based laboratory course in two semesters, while also developing and implementing innovative instructional exercises. Opportunities exist for additional didactic teaching and precepting in the curriculum.

Applicants must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent, residency training or equivalent practice experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, proficiency in computer technology, interest in scholarly pursuits, and pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure in Virginia. The ideal candidate will have two or more years of direct patient care practice, preferably in ambulatory care or hospital practice, and classroom and/or experiential teaching experience.
