Position Description
Fullerton, California – Marshall B. Ketchum University, a private not-for-profit health care professions university, is currently seeking a full-time faculty member for its new College of Pharmacy. The College is dedicated to excellence in education, service to the community, and research/scholarship. Working together with an outstanding leadership team, the faculty member will realize the College’s goal of reimagining the future of health care with an emphasis on advanced pharmacy practice skills, clinical medicine, and interprofessional education.

Working together with the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and the existing Vice Chair, the Vice Chair is expected to provide guidance to faculty members in the areas of research and scholarship, clinical practice site development, establishing and maintaining post-graduate educational programs, and teaching. The Vice Chair will also participate in service activities of the Department, College and University. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with administration and faculty, exert leadership in advisement and guidance, and possess advanced knowledge in pharmacy practice research. Candidates should have a terminal degree (PharmD or equivalent), PGY1 residency training, and a background commensurate to a rank of Associate Professor or higher. Preference will be given to individuals with a record of sustained scholarly activities; experience as an institutional review board member; experience in the promotion and tenure process; experience is developing clinical practice sites, and experience in developing post-graduate educational programs. The Vice Chair reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.

• Terminal degree (e.g., PharmD or equivalent).
• Current California Registered Pharmacist Licensure or must be eligible for and complete licensure.
• Completion of a residency, fellowship program, and/or equivalent experience in pharmacy practice.
• Professional board certification(s) in a specialty is encouraged
• Experience in teaching, professional practice, and scholarship is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific literature and academic publications.
