Position Description
The Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for a Director of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE). The appointment will be a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in an innovative, student-centered academic Doctor of Pharmacy program. The curriculum emphasizes self-directed learning, critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills. Experiential education begins early in the curriculum and is comprised of both introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences.

The APPE Director manages all aspects of the APPE program and works closely with students, practice sites, and preceptors to optimize student success in experiential education. This position provides direct involvement in the growth and maintenance of the APPE program. This includes recruitment and development of preceptors and practice sites. The APPE Director will assist in quality assurance initiatives of the APPE program, including travel to APPE sites. As a faculty member, the APPE Director will engage in teaching, service, and scholarship as a member of the Clinical Sciences Department. The APPE Director collaborates with the Associate Dean for Experiential Education and the Director of Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE).

Successful candidates will have an earned pharmacy degree. The candidate must have excellent teamwork skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and strong time management and organizational skills.
