Position Description
The University of Georgia (UGA) College of Pharmacy and the Augusta University/UGA Medical Partnership in Athens are seeking a dynamic leader, innovative educator and established practitioner to fill the joint position of Director of Interprofessional Education (IPE) in the College of Pharmacy and Clinical Faculty at the Medical Partnership.

The successful candidate will oversee all matters related to IPE including infrastructure, curricular framework and policy development, while working collaboratively with administration, faculty, and other educational healthcare partners to cultivate patient-centered IPE practice experiences. In addition, the Director of IPE will support teaching in the professional pharmacy program.

As Clinical Faculty at the AU/UGA Medical Partnership, the successful candidate will be responsible for instructing medical students on the rational selection and use of medicines throughout the medical curriculum. Specifically, they will use their expertise in clinical pharmacology (CP)/pharmacotherapy to provide students with unbiased, theoretical and practical knowledge of drugs, their rational use, and guideline-based prescribing practice. Through instruction on how prescribing is documented within clinical settings they will also contribute to interprofessional education at the Medical Partnership, complementing their role as Director of IPE at the UGA College of Pharmacy.

At the UGA College of Pharmacy, the Director of IPE will report to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. At the AU/UGA Medical Partnership, the faculty member will report to the Campus Associate Dean for Curriculum. The academic title and rank will reside in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy of the UGA College of Pharmacy, with an adjunct appointment in the appropriate unit in the Medical College of Georgia. A collaborative practice site will be available through the Medical Partnership’s Internal Medicine Residency Continuity clinic.
