Position Description

The 91-bed inpatient facility offers more treatment options and a more experienced and diversified staff than any other psychiatric or behavioral health care provider in the area.

Position Description

The Wexner Medical Center is looking for a highly motivated pharmacist to establish and grow our neuropsychiatry pharmacy services in the inpatient setting. We offer a unique practice model that allows pharmacists to practice at the top of their license in close coordination with our providers.

Specific patient care responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Rounding with inpatient psychiatric team
• Assurance of appropriate dose, route, frequency and duration of therapy
• Patient medication profile review for drug-drug interactions, duplication of therapy, drug allergy interactions and appropriate regimens
• Coordination of patients' pharmaceutical needs with physicians, mid-level providers, and nurses.

The population served includes adult and adolescent patients in our behavioral health inpatient facility and acute agitation patients presenting to the emergency department. This position is responsible for precepting PharmD students, student teaching as applicable, precepting PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents, clinical research activities and providing educational programs for patients and hospital staff (physicians, mid-level providers, nurses and pharmacy staff).

Education/Training Requirements

• Eligibility for licensure in the state of Ohio
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 specialty practice residency or equivalent experience
