MountainView Hospital is a 408-bed, state of the art, full service medical facility located in the heart of Northwest Las Vegas, one of the fastest growing areas in the Valley. With a dedicated and talented staff of employees and outstanding physicians, MountainView Hospital is recognized for high patient satisfaction and for providing quality and compassionate care to our community since 1996. MountainView Hospital has been expanding size and scope, including recent additions of a new Level III NICU and Level III trauma services.


MountainView Hospital's pharmacy department is utilizes a fully de-centralized, unit-based pharmacy model. Pharmacists at MountainView Hospital practice at the top of their license and skill-set, continuously seeking new strategies to best care for our patients. Pharmacists utilize a high-tech decision support program to assist in identification of potential clinical interventions. The pharmacy department recently started a PGY1 Pharmacy residency program, with the first class graduating in 2019, and is expanding in size.

POSITION SUMMARY (includes, but is not limited to):

The Clinical Pharmacist II will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care for his/her assigned areas of responsibility during the day or evening shifts. He/she will assure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and accrediting organizations. He/she will also coordinate, direct and evaluate the activities of the technical personnel on their shift. He/she will be responsible for maintenance of certain quality assurance activities and proper documentation during the shift. He/she will be willing to serve as a preceptor for PGY1 Pharmacy residents, as well as serve on hospital committees. Specialty areas of practice include medical ICU, surgical ICU, oncology, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, neonatology, and internal medicine.


Must be a graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) leading to a Bachelor of Science or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy. Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties certification will qualify the pharmacist for level II.


Current Nevada license to practice pharmacy required. Nevada offers a temporary license for those seeking license transfer.


Minimum of one year of hospital or institutional experience desired. PGY1 or PGY2 residency preferred.
