Clinical Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Critical Care

Position Description
The College is accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure, clinical track faculty member in critical care, and the rank will be commensurate with experience. This faculty member will spend approximately 50% of his/her time in clinical practice and 50% time in scholarly activities and teaching. We are seeking an individual who will maintain his/her clinical service in critical care and work with other clinical specialists and generalists in Michigan Medicine. We also expect the individual to develop or continue a scholarly record in a focused area that may include medication use, practice improvement and/or education and teach and mentor student pharmacists (didactic, course coordination and experiential), residents and, possibly, fellows. A national reputation in critical care is necessary for appointment at higher ranks.

The successful candidate will hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, PGY1 residency training, and PGY2 in critical care or commensurate experience. BCPS and/or BCCCP is required for appointment at higher ranks or board certification within one year will be necessary. Eligibility for Michigan pharmacy licensure is required. Applicants must demonstrate a strong record of or potential for leadership in scholarship and professional activities, and a strong commitment to the educational mission of the College “to educate and inspire a diverse group of future pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists to be leaders, advance patient care, and improve health for all.”

The University of Michigan is a world class University, noted for its excellent academic program and scientific discoveries as well as its healthcare delivery. The University of Michigan College of Pharmacy, first established in 1876, was the first such unit created within a state-supported University. The College uses team-based learning as its pedagogy for teaching pharmacotherapy. The successful individual will join a department with approximately 29 clinical faculty and 14 tenure-track faculty who work collaboratively on research and teaching. The University of Michigan Health Systems was recently named one of America's top hospitals by US News and World Report.

The start date for this position is Fall 2019, and the review of applications will begin mid-June.
