Position Description
Job Summary
Texas Children’s Hospital is searching for multiple Clinical Pharmacy Specialists to serve in each of the following roles:
• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit (CICU)
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Texas Children's Hospital has 3 open Clinical Pharmacy Specialist positions. Each position is responsible for managing and promoting activities to ensure a safe and effective medication use process for the designated medical specialty, providing direct patient care activities to promote optimal drug therapy, resolving medication use problems in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult), and serving as mentor to staff pharmacists who provide services to their designated medical specialty.

Additional Responsibilities
• Participation in quality improvement initiatives and research endeavors
• Performing medication use evaluations and assisting with formulary management
• Participation in clinical on-call activities
• Managing clinical implications of drug shortages
• Participation in the creation and maintenance of evidence based guidelines
• Serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students and pharmacy residents

• Bachelor's Degree in Science in Pharmacy OR Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
• RPH - Pharmacist in Texas (or eligible)
• Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and a PGY2 residency OR Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency with 4 years of post-residency clinical experience
