Position Description
JOB SUMMARY
The senior pharmacy specialist in critical care will be responsible for planning and implementing strategies to maximize the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety of drug use, developing and ensuring compliance with formulary and drug use policies, achieving fiscal goals as established by the department business plan, providing guidance and support to staff, serving as liaison to clinical leadership, and precepting pharmacy residents and students as needed.
Responsibilities include:
1. Enhance clinical quality and safety of medication use process
2. Manage pharmaceutical expense for target therapies and/or clinical areas
3. Mentor and develop pharmacy staff
4. Serve as clinical resource to assigned areas
5. Develop educational initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
The applicant must be a graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency or comparable work experience is required. Completion of a PGY2 Critical Care Residency is preferred.
