Position Description
The Sanford Health Pharmacy Department is seeking a full time pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy services for medical-surgical inpatients as a member of a multidisciplinary team at Sanford.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary pharmacist on a rounding internal medicine teaching team (hospitalist attending-led with medical residents) via a workstation on wheels while managing order and clinical needs for a medical-surgical unit. The shifts include primarily a template rotation of day and evening shifts, with an every 4th weekend rotation.

A successful candidate for this role will have experience and/or advanced training in the care of med-surg patients, and the completion of a residency or specialized experience (eg. PGY-1, PGY-2) is preferred. Interest in teaching is a plus and will be available for the candidate, primarily via a preceptor role for our PGY1 and APPE pharmacy trainees.

In addition to medical-surgical care services, pharmacy services at Sanford Medical Center include emergency medicine, neurology, cardiology, pediatrics, oncology, intensive care, dialysis, transplant, ID/antimicrobial stewardship, and medication reconciliation. Our decentralized pharmacist positions include clinical activities such as pharmacokinetics, TPN ordering and monitoring, anticoagulation dosing, renal dosing, IV to PO adjustments, and antimicrobial stewardship. All pharmacist staff are trained in the central pharmacy and IV room. Sanford Medical Center Fargo is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and verified Level 1 Trauma center.
