Position Description
A successful candidate for this role will have experience and advanced training in the practice of infectious disease and/or antimicrobial stewardship. The completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 residency or specialized experience is required. The completion of a PGY-2 in infectious disease, BCIDP credential, or Added Qualifications in Infectious Disease (AQ ID) is preferred. Sanford Health is a teaching hospital where the pharmacist will have the opportunity for involvement with our PGY-1 residents, PGY-2 critical care and oncology residents, and pharmacy students.

The successful candidate will have primary rotations through ID-ASP as well as limited central pharmacy, IV room, or other decentralized medical/surgical pharmacy roles (depending on interest). The pharmacist position includes clinical pharmacy activities. Some examples may include pharmacokinetics, TPN ordering and monitoring, anticoagulation management, renal dosing, IV to PO, and interdisciplinary rounding. When outside of the ID-ASP clinical specialty rotation weeks (M-F), the position will involve a rotation of day shifts, evening shifts, with an every 4th weekend rotation schedule.

Responsibilities will include:
--Serve as an ID-pharmacy resource for all members of the healthcare team at Sanford-Fargo Medical Centers regarding appropriate, safe and cost-effective antimicrobial use.
--Actively participate in daily ID-ASP activities and patient care.
--Support evaluation and development of system ID pharmacy programming through participation in multi-disciplinary ASP committee work.
--Active engagement in multi-disciplinary therapeutic and performance improvement initiatives, EMR (EPIC) build review/development, and Antimicrobial Guide updates.
--Assist with compliance with regulatory standards related to antimicrobial stewardship.
--Oversight and support of pharmacy learners (residents and pharmacy students) by precepting rotations and collaborating on presentations and projects.
