Position Description
Southeast Missouri Hospital is a 250-licensed bed hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and part of the Southeast HEALTH regional system of care. We are seeking an infectious diseases trained pharmacist to practice in our integrated, decentralized practice model. The infectious diseases pharmacist will have the opportunity to lead and improve the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. He/she will consult with the hospitalist service, but also work closely with our infectious diseases physicians. The pharmacist will also be responsible for daily order verification, dosing consults, staff education, and some evening / weekend staffing. The pharmacist will serve as a preceptor for students on APPE rotations and PGY-1 pharmacy residents and actively participate on inter-disciplinary committees.

Cape Girardeau is a college town, located just 90 minutes south of St. Louis on the Mississippi river. We enjoy excellent parochial and public schools and a low cost of living!

Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
Must hold (or be eligible for) a license to practice pharmacy in the state of Missouri
Three years hospital experience or completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency required
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 residency in infectious diseases or internal medicine preferred
Board certification or Antimicrobial Stewardship training or certification preferred
