Position Description
Overview: The Department of Clinical Sciences in the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy at High Point University invites applications for up to 7 full-time faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the following areas: community pharmacy/ co-curricular coordinator (1-2 positions; non-tenure track and tenure track); oncology (1 position - tenure track); geriatrics (1 position - tenure track); social administrative sciences / outcomes research (1-2 positions - tenure track); general internal medicine (1-2 positions - tenure track); specialty internal medicine (1-2 positions - nephrology, neurology, transplant, PK/PD -tenure track). The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a qualified candidate is selected. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. Candidates with prior academic experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities: The person in this position is responsible for teaching Pharm.D. students, developing an independent, integrated clinical practice and research program and providing service to the School of Pharmacy, University and the greater High Point community. The estimated distribution of effort for this individual at program maturity (i.e., when a full faculty cohort is hired) will be 30-40% research, 30-50% teaching and 20-30% service (clinical and non-clinical).

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE-accredited school and/or a Ph.D. degree
• Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience is pharmacy
practice is required for clinical candidates
• A specialty (PGY2) residency or fellowship training and additional professional certifications (e.g., BCPS, BCACP CDE)
are also highly preferred.
• Previous experience (1-2 years) of relevant medical or academic pharmacy teaching is also highly preferred and
preference will be given to candidates with this experience
• Eligibility for pharmacy licensure in North Carolina (for applicants with a Pharm.D.)
• Demonstrated potential to procure extramural research funding and develop an independent research program is highly
preferred
• Experience developing a clinical practice site and successfully conducting practice-based research is highly preferred
