Pharmacy Supervisor, Specialty Clinical Services
Salary Range: $7,725.00 to $ 19,183.33 Monthly

Responsible for implementing and daily management of cost control measures, drug utilization improvement and patient outcomes. Responsible for new program development, and management of new services. Responsible for staff development and assessment of staff competency. Works to improve patient care services and assures quality assurance outcomes are met. Works on-line with Specialist, Senior and Staff Pharmacists and manages daily scheduling of ambulatory care pharmacists and other pharmacy employees. Assists Residency Directors in coordinating residency experiences within the department and assists with student experiences. Works with the inpatient department to ensure exceptional continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient locations. The pharmacist also directly participates in the ambulatory care clinics and covers when staff is sick/out.

Required Qualifications
• Must have California Pharmacist License or be license eligible, obtaining California Pharmacist license within six months of employment
• Experience supervising pharmacists, technicians and other support staff.
• PGY1 pharmacy practice residency or BPS certification.
• Experience working in a busy clinic environment and possess working knowledge of third party Insurance billing and state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of collaborative practice agreements and the practice of ambulatory care in California.
• Knowledge of State and Federal Pharmacy laws.
• Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications
• ­Familiar with the use of physical assessment monitors such as DM machines, asthma spacers/inhalers, BP monitors, Coaguchek machines, etc.
­• Familiar with recent ambulatory care guidelines (i.e. NCEP, JNC, ADA)
• Computer skills that facilitate medication order entry and other basic clinical software programs.
• Drug distribution skills and techniques or ability to learn efficiently.
• PGY2 and/or further BPS.

Special Requirements
• All health practitioners have mandatory reporting responsibilities when an adult (or a minor who meets special circumstances as described in UCDMC Hospital P&P 1408) presents at UCDMC as an outpatient or inpatient from any source and if a person presents for treatment of injuries related to domestic violence; or if one has knowledge of or observes a child who one knows or reasonably suspects is the victim of child abuse; or if one has knowledge of, or reasonably suspects that an elder or a dependent adult is the victim of elder/dependent adult abuse. Non-health practitioners who suspect that an individual is a victim of abuse as outlined above, are strongly encouraged to report their suspicions to a health practitioner.
• This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
