The University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy invites applications for an Assistant/Associate/ Professor, Associate Director of Experiential Learning in the appointment stream. The incumbent will work with the director and coordinator to achieve the full range of responsibilities, which include and are not limited to engaging with preceptors locally and around the world, students, working with the Experiential Learning Team as well as assuring the development and delivery of preceptor training with continuing education.

Together, the Experiential Learning Team is accountable for the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences, as well as maintaining compliance with Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education accreditation standards.

Among the responsibilities of the associate director are ongoing development, management and coordination of the professional experience program, including instruction and logistical operations. The associate director will interface with faculty course coordinators of year-specific experiential education courses to assure continuity and curricular integrity and will collaborate with the director of and other faculty on quality improvement initiatives. The associate director will be responsible for recruiting, developing, evaluating, and retaining practitioners as preceptors and selecting exemplary experiential learning environments. The associate director will support and develop interprofessional learning experiences for students.

The ideal applicant will have an earned a professional pharmacy degree, have at least five years of practice and/or professional experience and hold or be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Pennsylvania. The incumbent will work extensively with all PharmD students and preceptors. Experience working with diverse populations is preferred. Faculty rank and salary for this calendar-year appointment is dependent on experience and qualifications.
