The American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) have expanded their established collaboration in board certification review and recertification in Oncology Pharmacy to include four additional specialties recognized by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS): Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, Cardiology Pharmacy, Geriatric Pharmacy, and Infectious Diseases Pharmacy.
Through this collaboration, pharmacists will have access to the board review and recertification resources developed by both organizations in both live and home study formats. Among the first offerings available are the upcoming ACCP/ASHP board review and recertification courses in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, Geriatric Pharmacy, and Oncology Pharmacy, to be presented live on May 2–4, 2019, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. These comprehensive 3-day courses, taught by leading experts, will use a highly interactive and engaging case-based instructional approach to present the domains, tasks, and knowledge statements delineated in the content outlines developed by BPS for the relevant specialty examination.
ACCP and ASHP will also offer board preparatory/recertification courses in the new Cardiology Pharmacy and Infectious Diseases Pharmacy specialties. These courses will become available exclusively for home study on June 26, 2019. The home study preparatory edition of the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy course will also be released on June 26. The home study preparatory editions of the Geriatric Pharmacy and Oncology Pharmacy courses will be released on July 10.
Additional offerings in the five specialties will be released through the ACCP/ASHP collaboration later in 2019 and beyond. More information on these offerings is available at www.rxcertifications.org. Registration for the courses to be offered in May 2019 is available at www.accp.com/meetings/ashpaccp18/index.aspx.
