A Message from the Editor

Dear Colleagues:

The featured article in this issue of ACCP International Clinical Pharmacist, “The Advanced Clinical Pharmacist,” summarizes the credentialing framework published by the Council on Credentialing in Pharmacy. The framework defines advanced practitioners according to the patient populations being cared for and the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to deliver that care. Select credentials are provided to illustrate the continuum of the clinical pharmacist’s scope of practice.

The Book Highlights department of this issue features Hematology/Immunology/Oncology, the latest release in the Pharmacotherapy Self-Assessment Program (PSAP), the highly acclaimed specialty recertification program for Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialists (BCPSs). Book chapters cover advances in managing common hematologic, immunologic, and oncologic disorders and discuss clinical trials in oncology.

Finally, I urge my international colleagues to participate in the 2018 ACCP Global Conference on Clinical Pharmacy, to be held October 20–23 in Seattle, Washington. The conference is a unique educational and networking event that brings together like-minded professionals focused on clinical pharmacy education and training, practice, research, professional development, and leadership. The article titled “2018 Global Conference on Clinical Pharmacy to Be Held in Seattle” highlights the 2018 programming of relevance to various stakeholders. Pharmacists and pharmacy leaders from 40 nations representing six continents attended the 2015 ACCP Global Conference on Clinical Pharmacy. I hope you will be able to take part in this year’s activities.

Sincerely,

Wafa Y. Dahdal, Pharm.D.
