Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 1:15 PM to 2:45 PM MST at Convention Center North Building / North Ballroom 120D
Available for 1.50 hours of CPE creditActivity Number: 0217-0000-24-116-L01-PActivity Type: An Application-Based ActivityThis engaging session centers around four diverse cardiovascular cases with controversial data. Topics include the role of guideline-directed medical therapy in advanced heart failure, innovations in pulmonary arterial hypertension, contemporary management of atrial fibrillation, and oral anticoagulant drug interactions. Presentations have been designed to facilitate dynamic discussions by moving away from the usual lecture format to create space for audience and panel interactions and ending with a 10-minute Q&A and panel discussion. The cases have been intentionally selected to demonstrate real examples of patient-specific decision-making in situations where evidence and/or recommendations are not always clear.
Learning Objectives1. Debate the utility of guideline-directed medical therapy in advanced heart failure.
2. Create an evidence-based therapy plan for a patient with pulmonary arterial hypertension.
3. Evaluate the evidence for rate versus rhythm control strategies in patients with atrial fibrillation.
4. Design an anticoagulation therapy and monitoring plan in the setting of drug-drug interactions.
