The pharmacist’s role in influencing and shaping healthcare policies at both the national and international levels has never been more important. This session aims to provide today’s clinicians with effective strategies for addressing local and global health challenges. By focusing on building partnerships, navigating policies with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and government organizations, and establishing on-the-ground community collaborations, participants can contribute to advancing equitable pharmacy practice, improving preventive and medical service, on a local and global scale. Learners will engage with presenters through case examples and live polling over three presentations.
Learning Objectives1. Identify how global collaborations advance pharmacy practice and addresses the unmet healthcare needs of global populations.
2. Discuss strategies for establishing and nurturing partnerships with international pharmaceutical organizations, academic institutions, and professional associations.
3. Define the role of pharmacists in influencing and shaping healthcare policies at both the national and international levels to improve preventative and medical services.
4. Discuss the potential impact of partnerships with NonGovernmental Organizations (NGOs) and government agencies on policy development and implementation.
5. Describe effective strategies for pharmacists and the significance of communitybased pharmacy initiatives in addressing local and global health challenges.
6. Highlight characteristics of successful collaboration models that enhance clinical and academic outcomes to improve overall community well-being to promote global health equity and access.
