Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM MST at Convention Center North Building / Meeting Room 132
Available for 1.50 hours of CPE creditActivity Number: 0217-0000-24-164-L04-PActivity Type: An Application-Based ActivityThis session, developed by the DEIA task force of ACCP, underscores the benefits of enhancing DEIA initiatives within the college and the profession to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion for all members. The session is directly aligned with ACCP’s core values of a commitment to embrace diversity and inclusion, and challenge the status quo, state it’s organizational beliefs, and act on them. With a focus on multi-partial moderation, which brings multiple views, narratives, and experiences in, the session is designed to cultivate an environment where everyone feels heard. This session will include a diverse panel of clinical pharmacists who will share how marginalization, stigmatization, and bias have affected their own personal and professional journeys. Alternative perspectives shared as part of ACCP’s DEIA assessment will be incorporated into the session and members with divergent views on these topics are invited to attend and participate in the discussion. To foster an environment where all individuals are welcomed, valued, respected, and heard, we must work together to cultivate an atmosphere that is free of prejudices and judgement and fosters a sense of belonging for all.
Learning Objectives1. Compare and contrast the concepts of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and justice.
2. Describe the concept of multipartiality and how it can be utilized to support an inclusive environment when opposing views converge.
3. Outline methods to foster a deeper sense of belonging and shared understanding in your organization, regardless of your personal perspectives of DEIA.
