Biography

Kevin M. Sowinski, Pharm.D., FCCP

Dr. Kevin M. Sowinski is professor of pharmacy practice at the Purdue University College of Pharmacy and adjunct professor of medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Sowinski received a bachelor’s of science degree in pharmacy in 1990 and a Pharm.D. degree in 1992 at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. From 1992 to 1995, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He has been at Purdue University since 1995.

Dr. Sowinski has served as chair of several ACCP committees and task forces as well as the ACCP Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics PRN. He has also served as a specialist member and chair of the Pharmacotherapy Specialty Council of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.

Dr. Sowinski has published more than 100 original publications or abstracts, as well as more than 20 book chapters, letters, or editorials. These papers have mostly focused on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, biostatistics, and issues in pharmaceutical education. Dr. Sowinski teaches cardiovascular therapeutics, biostatistics, and research design to Pharm.D. and graduate students.
