Tamara Malm , Pharm.D., MPH, BCPS

Navigating the Residency Application Process; Interviewing Skills;

Tamara Malm is an assistant professor at the University of Saint Joseph School of Pharmacy in Hartford, Connecticut. She maintains a clinical practice site at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she precepts last-year pharmacy students on their ambulatory care APPEs. Malm received her Pharm.D. and MPH degrees from the University of Kentucky and then traveled to Greenville, North Carolina, to complete her PGY1 at Vidant Medical Center. She completed a PGY2 in health-system pharmacy administration at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she developed a transitional care pharmacy service in the adult primary care clinic.

Malm’s practice interests include chronic respiratory diseases, anticoagulation, addiction recovery, and pharmacy leadership. In her role at Yale-New Haven Hospital, she is on the Health System Anticoagulation Committee and helps lead a research project focused on increasing naloxone access.

 

Garrett E. Schramm , Pharm.D., BCPS

Garrett E. Schramm is the director of pharmacy education and academic affairs at Mayo Clinic, assistant professor of pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Sciences, and administrator for 12 PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residency programs for Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Health System. Schramm received a Pharm.D. degree from South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, with subsequent completion of PGY1 and PGY2 critical care pharmacy residencies at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Before accepting an education administrative position, in which he oversees education and training for more than 1100 pharmacy staff and 12 postgraduate residency programs, and a pharmacy technician education and training program, he worked as a medical ICU clinical pharmacist and clinical researcher. He has presented on scholarly topics nationally and internationally and has published on a variety of topics, including the curriculum vitae chapter (Step IX: Document It All) of the ACCP Field Guide to Becoming a Standout Pharmacy Residency Candidate.
