Controversies in Critical Nephrology

The Critical Care and Nephrology PRNs have teamed up
to present this full-day program. Faculty will examine the
evidence for assessing renal function, methods for preventing
renal dysfunction, renal support, and hepatorenal syndrome.
Participants will understand the complex interactions
between the renal system and other organ systems and
the ways in which renal support affects these interactions.
Discussions will also include evidence-based approaches for
preventing and managing acute renal failure in critically ill
patients.
This program, which provides 7.5 hours of ACPE-approved
continuing education, requires separate registration. The
on-site registration fee is $250 for ACCP members, and lunch
will be provided during the session.

Current Topics in Ambulatory Cardiology

This half-day symposium presented by members of the
Cardiology and Ambulatory Care PRNs will address a wide
range of outpatient cardiology issues. Faculty will identify
methods that result in greater reductions in blood pressure
and discuss current recommendations for anticoagulation
based on the 2008 Chest Guidelines. PRN members and
faculty will also discuss current controversies and advances in
therapeutic plans for heart failure, LDL and HDL cholesterol,
diabetes mellitus, and coronary artery disease. Attendees
may complete a Sanofi-Aventis request form to obtain a
printed copy of the 2008 Chest Guidelines (distribution may
be limited and based on availability).
This program, which provides 5.0 hours of ACPE-approved
continuing education, requires separate registration. The onsite
registration fee for ACCP members is $120.
