It has been my extreme pleasure to serve this year as the 29th president of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. In anticipation of the College’s 30th anniversary in 2009, I asked the leadership of each PRN to chronicle the history of their PRN since its inception. For centuries past, humankind has been admonished to share the stories of the past generations with the current ones so that God’s faithfulness and humankind’s actions would not be lost.

Last month, members voted to make their choices for the future leaders of their respective practice and research networks (PRNs). Please join us in recognizing both newly elected members and those continuing to serve their respective PRNs the coming year.

At the 2007 Annual Meeting in Denver, ACCP President Matzke issued a call to all PRN chairs to develop a document that characterizes the history of their PRN. This information will highlight the key roles the PRNs have played in the success of the College and the contributions each has made to the clinical pharmacy profession.

ACCP’s Board of Regents has approved the application for an Emergency Medicine PRN. The Board created the new PRN by unanimous vote on August 5, 2008. Emergency Medicine becomes ACCP’s 22nd PRN.
