ACCP is pleased to announce that James R. Mault, M.D., FACS, director of New Products and Business Development for the Health Solutions Group at Microsoft Corp., will serve as the 2009 Annual Meeting Keynote Speaker. Dr. Mault’s address will focus on the innovative technologies used to advance patient-centered health care. Specifically, his address will focus on new technologic approaches to patient-centered health care and the ways in which technology can empower patients in making health care decisions.
Dr. Mault has served as the director of New Products for the Health Solutions Group at Microsoft since 2007 and has more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive in the medical device and health IT industry as well as in clinical medicine. He is board certified in both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery, having specialized in heart and lung transplantation, thoracic oncology, and critical care. He has conducted academic medical research under numerous grant awards from the National Institutes of Health, the American Cancer Society, and others. He is the author of more than 100 scientific articles, chapters, and books in the published medical literature and is the named inventor of dozens of issued and pending patents for a variety of medical devices and health information systems. Dr. Mault also maintains a clinical faculty position at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and is an active member of numerous medical and surgical societies, including the American College of Surgeons, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and The American Heart Association as well as the American Medical Association.
