Practice Advancement Programming at the 2024 Annual Meeting

We invite you to attend Annual Meeting sessions showcasing member expertise in practice advancement. Join us Saturday, October 12, at 9:45 a.m. for a session titled “The 340B Drug Pricing Program: Leveraging to Build Clinical Pharmacy Services.” This session is designed for clinical pharmacists and clinical pharmacy administrators who wish to learn more about opportunities to leverage the 340B Drug Pricing Program to improve patient care and support clinical pharmacy services. The first presentation by Dr. Adriane Irwin will provide a foundation by explaining how the 340B program generates savings for covered entities and identifying examples of using 340B-generated revenue to expand and enhance health services for patients. Dr. Andrew Sowles will then describe the successful implementation of 340B funding to establish and expand clinical pharmacy services within a not-for-profit health system. The final presentation by Dr. Stacy Ramirez will showcase an example of 340B-funded clinical pharmacy service expansion within a federally qualified health center. Each presenter will share challenges and enabling factors for funding and sustainability of these services. A panel question-and-answer with session speakers will allow an opportunity for further engagement with these experts in the field. This session is open to all Annual Meeting registrants and offers elective credit for the CMM Implementation Academy and the Billing and Contracting for Outpatient Clinical Pharmacy Services Academy in addition to traditional CPE credit.

Don’t miss the Billing, Contracting, and Comprehensive Medication Management (CMM) Consultancy on Monday, October 14, at 3:30 p.m. This unique and engaging session format has received rave reviews from attendees at prior meetings. Drs. Todd Sorensen and Ryan Wargo will engage participants in problem-solving conversations on real-time practice implementation and sustainability challenges presented by session participants. This will be an “all teach, all learn” session during which the collective experience and creativity of the participants will be used to identify strategies to address the participant challenges shared during several 15-minute case presentations. Whether you are a seasoned or novice clinician or an administrator, this session is for you.
