St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, home to the Texas Heart Institute (THI), is located within the heart of the Texas Medical Center. THI consistently ranks among the top 10 cardiology and heart surgery centers in the nation by the US News and World Report. St. Luke's has a CV Surgery ICU, CCU, Pulmonary ICU, Transplant ICU, Neurovascular ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, and 4 Medical-Surgical ICU patient care areas. We offer a series of rotations designed to provide comprehensive core learning of diseases and drug therapy issues pertinent to the critically ill patient. Rotations will include, but are not limited to, medical cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, neurology/neurosurgery, nephrology/nutrition, pulmonary/critical care, and transplantation. There is also a staffing component every third weekend. St. Luke's is an 912-bed (672 in-service), non-profit, tertiary (acute care) teaching hospital with 39 operating rooms and 157 critical care beds. St. Luke's is the primary adult teaching hospital for Baylor College of Medicine and is also affiliated with The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School.
