The residency emphasizes development of advanced pharmaceutical care skills, while encouraging residents to explore areas of interest. Core rotations include general pediatrics, emergency medicine, pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, ambulatory care and practice management. Elective rotations include hematology/oncology, cardiology, nephrology, transplant, gastroenterology/nutrition, infectious disease and pulmonology. Residents’ present in-services, CE lectures and complete a residency project. Teaching opportunities include precepting pharmacy students and facilitation of student didactic sessions. Staffing includes both decentralized and central pharmacy functions. Upon completion residents will be well-rounded independent practitioners prepared to pursue PGY2 training, patient care positions and become leaders within pharmacy.
