Ambulatory care clinical pharmacists are often responsible for recognizing and managing chronic cardiovascular conditions in their patients. Cardiologic Care presents evidence-based updates on the management of a variety of cardiovascular disorders; practical information regarding diagnosis of these conditions; and recommended treatments with their associated toxicities. The modules cover treatment guidelines from a variety of organizations and publications, as well as nonpharmacologic remedies.

Toni L. Ripley, Pharm.D., FCCP, BCPS-AQ Cardiology, ASH-CHC

The book contains four learning modules with a total available 16.5 continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. The content of Cardiologic Care was developed under the leadership of Faculty Panel Chair Toni L. Ripley, Pharm.D., FCCP, BCPS-AQ Cardiology, ASH-CHC.

Chapters in the first module focus on preventing cardiovascular disease and managing obesity in patients with cardiovascular disease. The second module provides updates on the pharmacogenomics of cardiovascular disease, as well as managing transitions of care in patients with acute coronary syndrome and heart failure. The third module provides an update of chronic heart failure management, as well as a separate chapter on managing cardiovascular disease in older patients. The forth module covers the management of patients with resistant hypertension, as well as chronic management of patients with thromboembolic disorders.

Each ACSAP release includes two full-color online formats: (1) interactive PDFs you can save to your desktop or print; and (2) an e-media version you can view on an e-reader, tablet, and iOS or Android smart phone.
