The latest release in ACCP’s new Pediatric Self-Assessment Program (PedSAP) focuses on evidence-based updates for the management of pediatric patients receiving specialized nutrition support therapy.
Fluids, Electrolytes, and Nutrition carries a total of 12.0 continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. Content was developed under the leadership of Faculty Panel Chair Catherine M. Crill, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCNSP.
Chapters in the first module include an overview of fluid and electrolyte management in pediatric patients; update on topics affecting parenteral nutrition support; and management of common problems seen in parenteral nutrition. Clinical and Practice Updates modules provide interactive cases on ordering and compounding parenteral nutrition orders and a guideline update on childhood obesity. On-demand webcasts cover nutrition support in critically ill patients and an update on enteral nutrition support.
All PedSAP chapters are fully referenced, with online links to literature compilers such as PubMed. In addition, hypertext links provide ready access to clinical practice guidelines, additional readings, and other resources. PedSAP releases are designed not only to provide BCPPS recertification credits but also to update the pediatric clinical practitioner and improve patient outcomes.
