The first book in the 2016-2018 edition of ACCP’s popular Pharmacotherapy Self-Assessment Program focuses on evidence-based practice considerations on the management of several important cardiovascular conditions. Cardiology contains two learning modules with a total available 13.5 continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits.

The book content was developed under the leadership of Faculty Panel Chair Sarah A. Spinler, Pharm.D., FCCP, BCPS.

The first module reviews the latest literature and guidelines on Hypertension, Dyslipidemia, and Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. Chapters in the second module cover Valvular Heart Disease, Endocarditis, and Oral Anticoagulants in Venous Thromboembolism and Atrial Fibrillation.

All PSAP chapters are fully referenced and include online links to literature compilers such as PubMed. Hypertext links provide ready access to clinical practice guidelines, official recommendations, and patient assessment tools. New graphic features focus on pivotal studies, patient care scenarios, and take-home points that can be readily integrated into clinical practice. Multimedia elements include instructional videos and MP3 audio files.
