The latest release in ACCP’s popular Pharmacotherapy Self-Assessment Program (PSAP) focuses on evidence-based management strategies for hematologic and oncologic diseases.

Joseph S. Bubalo, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCOP

Hematology/Immunology/Oncology contains four learning modules with a total available 20.0 continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. The book content was developed under the leadership of Faculty Panel Chair Joseph S. Bubalo, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCOP.

Chapters in the first module review the most recent evidence and new insights in the use of factor products and the management of thrombocytopenia. The second module includes chapters on systemic lupus erythematosus and an update on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The third module presents the most recent evidence in the management of breast and lung cancer. The fourth module provides an update on the management of skin cancers and addresses new developments and updates in oncology clinical trials. The updates of lung and skin cancer also are notable for their exploration of the fast moving immune therapies for the treatment of cancer, which are changing the face of cancer in those disorders and potentially others in the future.

Each PSAP release comes in two full-color online formats: (1) interactive PDFs you can save to your desktop or print; and (2) an e-media version you can view on an e-reader, tablet, iOS or Android smart phone. Each release also includes the popular PSAP Audio Companion, audio MP3 files that can be downloaded to a player or burned onto a CD. A one-color softbound print book is available for an added fee.

All PSAP chapters are fully referenced, with clickable hyperlinks to literature compilers such as PubMed. Other links provide ready access to clinical practice guidelines, official recommendations, and patient assessment tools. Graphic features focus on pivotal studies, patient care scenarios, and take-home points that can be readily integrated into clinical practice.
