Abstract

SERVICE

The Endocrine and Metabolism (E&M) Practice and Research Network (PRN) is comprised of approximately 270 clinical pharmacists and trainees from a diverse range of practice settings, who actively contribute to the profession of pharmacy through education, leadership, research, and service. Members are surveyed annually to evaluate accomplishments including promotions, practice advancement, awards, and scholarly activities.

DOCUMENTATION

An annual electronic survey was distributed by the E&M PRN membership committee to the PRN membership.

ADAPTABILITY

Data obtained from the annual surveys are compared to data from previous years. They are also included in the ACCP PRN Annual Report and used as a guide for engaging members and meeting their needs.

SIGNIFICANCE

There were thirty-three members who completed the 2023 survey, and all were full or associate members. The results show that E&M PRN members continue to be highly specialized clinical pharmacists practicing in a variety of settings with several members advancing pharmacy practice through collaborative practice agreements, prescribing authority, and billing for pharmacist provided services. The focus on endocrine and metabolism, small size and networking opportunities attracted the majority of respondents to the PRN and they find most value from the PRN's educational offerings and leadership opportunities. The E&M PRN continues to contribute to the success of ACCP through provision of valuable practice, research, and networking opportunities for a small, strong group of pharmacists and trainees who are actively advancing the practice of pharmacy.
