Jimmi Hatton Kolpek , Pharm.D., FCCP, FCCM, FNAP

Jimmi Hatton Kolpek is a tenured professor practicing and conducting research on the care of patients with neurologic injury. After serving as a department chair (2007–2011), her clinical practice transitioned from neurologic intensive care to rehabilitation and ambulatory care of patients with spinal cord and brain injury. Through collaborative partnerships with colleagues from the Kentucky Appalachian Rural Rehabilitation Network ( and the Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital (, she has targeted the challenges of polypharmacy after neurologic injury. Hatton Kolpek continues pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic research projects with colleagues from neurosurgery and the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center ( Hatton Kolpek’s research has been funded by the NIH, private foundations, industry, and the university.

She is a vice chair of the University of Kentucky IRB. She serves on the editorial board of Neurocritical Care and is a member of the Neurocritical Care Society Research Committee. She also provides instruction to professional students, residents, and graduate students in the colleges of pharmacy and medicine in evidence-based medicine, advanced pharmacy practice, traumatic brain injury, and clinical research ethics.

In 2015, Hatton Kolpek became the director of the ACCP Academy Research and Scholarship Certificate Program and participates as a mentor in the ACCP MeRIT program. In 2017, Hatton Kolpek was recognized as a distinguished scholar and fellow in the National Academies of Practice.

Dr. Hatton Kolpek will begin her term as ACCP President-elect during the ACCP 40th Annual Meeting in New York.
