Storytelling as a Critical Strategy for Leaders

Monday, October 17, 2022 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM PDT at Franciscan Rooms C&D

Available for 2.00 hours of CPE credit
Activity Number: 0217-0000-22-224-L04-P
Activity Type: An Application-Based Activity

To harness opportunities created by dynamic changes in health care, clinicians and administrators require skills that create enthusiasm on the part of staff and senior executives for initiatives to accomplish the Quadruple Aim. Common approaches relying largely on data-driven presentations are frequently inadequate in creating buy-in from decision-makers. Also, change initiatives often do not succeed due to relational challenges rather than the merits of the vision for change. Storytelling is an emerging strategy to complement traditional data-driven approaches to influence and decision-making. Opportunities to develop skills in public narrative are rarely available in formal pharmacy training programs.
