Clinical Pharmacists Participate on Expert U.S. Panel to Develop COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines

Six clinical pharmacists, including five ACCP members, were selected to participate on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel, based on their expertise in pharmacology, guidelines development, and experience in caring for patients with COVID-19. They played key roles in the guideline development process, serving as pharmacology experts, critically reviewing literature, and providing leadership and administrative support. The 6 clinical pharmacists that participated in this interprofessional guideline development effort were Pamela Belperio, Pharm.D., BCPS, from the Department of Veterans Affairs; Page Crew, Pharm.D., MPH, BCPS, from the NIH, and Assistant Executive Secretary to the panel; Susan L. Davis, Pharm.D., FIDP, from Wayne State University and Henry Ford Health System; Amy L. Dzierba, Pharm.D., FCCM, FCCP, BCCCP, from New York-Presbyterian Hospital; Safia Kuriakose, Pharm.D., BCPS-AQ ID, from Leidos Biomedical Research/NIAID, and Assistant Executive Secretary to the panel; and Alice Pau, Pharm.D., from the NIH, and Executive Secretary to the panel.
