Infectious Diseases Specialist Participates in National and Statewide Initiatives

ACCP member Julie Ann Justo, Pharm.D., M.S., BCPS-AQ ID, clinical associate professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Outcomes Sciences at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, volunteers as the lead pharmacist on the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) COVID-19 Clinical Advisory Council, which directs a fair, equitable, and patient-centered remdesivir allocation process across the state of South Carolina. She was also invited to serve as the sole pharmacy representative on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Remdesivir Consultative Committee to provide advice on national remdesivir allocation. Dr. Justo has been working at the national level to help educate pharmacists about COVID-19 by delivering podcasts and videos in collaboration with the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists, posting updates on Twitter, and developing FAQ documents on remdesivir. She has also conducted interviews with outlets such as Business Insider, Drug Topics, and local television stations.
