Holiday Thanks

As we move into the holiday season, we look back and think about what we are grateful for and how to show our appreciation to others. For me, it is my teammates at work and at ACCP that I’ve grown to value. Being part of a team and feeling support from your teammates are among the best feelings we can have. According to the motivational speaker Simon Sinek, “A team is not a group of people that work together. A team is a group of people that trust each other.” There’s power in a group of people who trust one another and work together toward a shared goal. This is what true support is all about. Supported teams are successful teams, and leaders are only as successful as their teams. However, it is important to let our teammates know how we feel by reaching out with a personal note or small gift to let them know they are valued.

I want to express my appreciation for the hard work of the ACCP committees and task forces as they pursue their goals this year. Seeing the ongoing exchange of ideas and the excitement generated by these groups as they work together to achieve the goals set forth in their charges is inspiring.

At this time of year, when it is easy to get caught up in holiday planning and travel, our minds can become crowded with dinner menus and to-do lists. But, as John F. Kennedy said, “We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.” Happy Holidays and thank you for being a member of ACCP!
