In addition, many PRNs now offer their own travel awards for students, residents, and fellows, providing even more opportunities for attendees to apply for funding to defray the costs associated with attending the ACCP Annual Meeting.

ACCP Student Chapter Award Announced

This award recognizes the ACCP student chapter that has exemplified strength in leadership, dedication in patient care, and passion for professional development through its activities and membership. The chapter’s activities should address ACCP’s core values of extending the frontiers of clinical pharmacy and promoting dedication to excellence in patient care, research, and education. A key component of all the core values is the clinical pharmacist’s ability to work collaboratively within the health care environment. Each chapter must demonstrate its ability to work with other health disciplines. Please join ACCP in congratulating this year’s Outstanding Student Chapter Award, the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Houston also received the 2018 Outstanding Chapter Award. ACCP will present the officers representing the University of Houston College of Pharmacy with their Outstanding Chapter plaque and $1000 award during the Student Chapter Forum session on Saturday, October 26, during the 2019 ACCP Annual Meeting in New York City.

ACCP Clinical Research Challenge – Winning Teams to Present Posters at ACCP Annual Meeting

Clinical Research Challenge

Competition in the 2019 ACCP Clinical Research Challenge (CRC) began February 3 with 82 teams vying for a spot in round 2: Letter of Intent (LOI) submission. Teams achieving the top 40 scores after the initial online Journal Club Round submitted an LOI. Teams achieving the top 20 scores after round 2 were invited to compete in round 3: Research Protocol Development. Round 3 teams were then tasked with developing a research proposal designed to demonstrate the clinical pharmacist’s value in providing antimicrobial stewardship services in a small, rural, critical access hospital environment.

Proposals were reviewed by the CRC Review Panel, and submissions ranking in the top one-third were referred for evaluation and selection of awards by the CRC Oversight Panel. Please join ACCP in congratulating the award winners.
